Time flies when you're having fun. It's been an incredibly exciting, fast-paced year of learning and I've enjoyed taking this wonderfully musical journey with you! Your instrument of the week is YOU! Take time to explore the many sounds you can make all by yourself and those sounds you can imitate from the world around you: Animal sounds, Mechanical sounds, Sounds around your house, at the park, the zoo, the beach, etc. YOU can do amazing things if you think creatively and mindfully. Have a terrific summer!
That's right, if you're looking before June 12, you're getting a sneak peak at what's to come. This job is one of the best kept secrets in the movie industry. It's called "Foley." The person's job is to create sounds to go along with the actions on the screen. Sounds we might otherwise take for granted. The ruffling of a cape in the wind, the ominous footsteps of a villain, this is all added into a movie after filming is finished. This clip is way to long for class, but fun to watch in its entirety at home. Enjoy!
So often we take for granted the fact that our body is an instrument. Our voice, our hands, and yes, our feet. Here the legends of Tap Dance show us how you don't need a drum to make a rhythm to go with the music. ENJOY!
